What you get:

You will receive a super cool limited Gran Fondo Goldendale souvenir, a well thought out, and well marked course to ride, and an aid station to refuel at mid ride. We will also post the times of all finishers for bragging rights.

The 45 mile course captures all of the awesomeness of it’s big bro in a handy bite size package.  Epic views of Mt Adams,  a rough and rowdy wind farm tour, and some of Klickitat’s finest gravel.

90 miles with 6300′ of climbing. You will be on approx 25 miles worth of gravel.  Not as much as in GF Ephrata, but not as nice of gravel as Ephrata either.  Think bigger rock and rougher, most notably on Cameron Rd, Rattlesnake Rd, and Dalles Mtn Rd, most of the rest roll reasonably well.

Bottom Line:

With so many variable course conditions it is hard to say what’s right or wrong. Gravel, road, cx, or mtb, any one will work, but all will have a disadvantage at some point.  Some fast gravel, some chunk, and some full on dirt/rock road, but considering the pavement/gravel ratio it does not pay to go full monster truck.  Aim for a good middle ground and don’t look back.  There will be lots of climbing so plan accordingly. There will an aid station to refuel at mid ride, but it is always a good idea to be as self sufficient as possible. Weather is always something to consider this time of year. We’d love to say it’s going to be sunny and 65 degrees, but it could just as easily be windy or rainy or both. Bring on the adventure baby!

Gear:

Goldendale may just be the perfect middle ground at 90 miles, 6300′, 25 gravel, bridging the gap between Ephrata and Leavenworth.  This is a beautiful ride on rolling terrain, just on the edge of dry land wheat and big mountains, but not too much of either.

Refunds:

Up to 30 days out?  No problemo.  Less than 30 days?  Ok, we’ll do a 50% refund.  Two weeks out?  Come on man, you’re killing the vibe, we’ve committed our efforts and resources already at this point, no refunds.

While in Goldendale check out a few of our faves, be sure to tell them your in town for the Gran Fondo.
